Assist in the review of each location's electricity and natural gas usage and determine procurement opportunities.

For years the customer’s procurement department would create RFP’s for each locations’ natural gas and electricity needs. APPI often participated in the RFP process. Customer would select suppliers based on price but would often be surprised by the additional charges that were "passed through" or not included in the full requirements price.

APPI introduced the reverse auction platform to use the efficiency and expediency of the auction to drive margin out of the energy suppliers’ prices. The customer liked the idea but decided to begin with one of the smaller locations. The reverse auction provided a dozen suppliers competing for the business resulting in thousands of dollars of savings over the expected market price. Customer has utilized the auction platform for all of its printing plants that are located in deregulated markets including MA, NJ, NY, and PA.

For facilities without procurement opportunities, APPI conducts a bill audit review to determine if the facility is on the correct tariff rate.
