Will natural gas prices remain low?
Natural gas prices are currently at the lowest levels seen in many years, partially because of the emerging shale gas industry. Prices currently hover around $3 per million BTU compared to $13 per million BTU in 2008.
Despite current natural gas prices and the seemingly endless reserve, existing prices may not last. If reliance on natural gas to generate electricity increases, natural gas prices may inevitably go up.
