Affiliated Power Purchasers International, LLC (APPI), based in Salisbury, MD, is an independent, utility consulting company. APPI develops, administers, and operates utility-based benefit programs for national and state trade associations. APPI’s Savings Solutions program identifies and implements options that reduce the costs of energy, utility, and telecommunications expenses.

As the consultant for the association and its members, APPI navigates the maze of utility deregulation by analyzing, negotiating, contracting, and managing critical services. These services include energy (electricity and natural gas), water, recycling, waste removal, freight, credit card processing, and telecommunications (voice and data). As of June 2004, APPI is working with thousands of businesses with locations across the United States that are members of 140 trade associations.

APPI operates independently. It is not affiliated with any utility, vendor, or energy supplier. Client relationships are based on a performance, value-added model. Members pay no upfront, hourly, or retainer fees. APPI is compensated when it demonstrates and delivers savings and/or refunds. APPI’s staff includes engineers, tariff and regulatory specialists, financial and legal professionals, and account management advisors with expertise in utility analysis, tariff auditing and energy deregulation.

APPI has received the sponsorship of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) as its energy and utility consulting partner. ASAE is the largest association representing the professional staff of U.S. and international associations. Its members manage leading trade associations, individual membership societies, and voluntary organizations across the United States and in 50 other countries. This membership includes more than 12 million commercial and industrial businesses.
